Maasai Mara National Reserve is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Parkin Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. The Maasai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas.
The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5million animals arriving in July and departing in October. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians andreptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve.Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is forthis reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).
After your early morning breakfast, you will be briefed and soon afterwards embark on a journey drive overland to the bottom of the Great Rift Valley and the iconic savannah wilderness alive with Maasai people and wildlife living together to the famous Maasai Mara national reserve. You will check in your lodge/camp around mid-day or thereafter, just in time for your lunch, enjoy a sumptuous meal, relax followed by an evening game drive. The reserve has a high concentration of wildlife and dazzling panorama, some of the mammals we expect to see include the giant African Elephant, Eland, Maasai Giraffe, Cape Buffalo, Topi, Burchell’s Zebra and thousands of plain game.
Pre-BookEarly morning breakfast, then leave for a whole day game drive in the finest game reserve in Kenya, noted for its wildebeest migration and the Big 5 wildlife. This is probably the best place in Kenya for seeing carnivores and we can expect to enjoy some marvelously close encounters with Lions, perhaps watching a prides noozing under some bushes whilst the cubs play amongst the Lionesses, the Cheetahs with their languid grace and extraordinary burst of speed when hunting gazelles is something to behold, the elusive Leopard with its stealth hunting skills and other wildlife.
