Day 1: Nairobi- Menengai Crater
You will be met by our guide early morning after your breakfast and embark on the safari heading to Menengai Crater for the hike. Menengai crater (2490m high), is enormous, about 12 km across and 500m deep, situated on the Nothern side of Nakuru. It is the second largest surviving volcanic crater in the world, with a surface area of 90kmsqAs we ascend, you will have an excellent view of Lake Nakuru, Bogoria & their environs.Menengai is the second place in Kenya where directions & distances of several places worldwide can be measured. After the hike you will proceed to lake Baringo with lunch enroute. Boat ride to the Njemps (one of the smallest ethnic group) occupied Island in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 2.Lake Baringo-Lake Nakuru National Park
Nature walk to the Baringo cliffs then proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, we will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge with a planned game drive in the afternoon. The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant. The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renown and over 400 bird’s species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the White Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe. Dinner and overnight at Lodge
DAY 3: Lake Nakuru-Maasai Mara National Reserve
Early morning breakfast followed by a short game drive at the lake and there after depart for Maasai Mara game reserve with optional stops arriving in good time for lunch at your lodge. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. The Mara Game Reserve —one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see. Residents among the park are: Maasai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousands of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles. Dinner and overnight at Lodge
DAY 4: Maasai Mara
The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today and tomorrow during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
DAY 5: Maasai Mara-Naivasha
Early morning game drive and later after breakfast depart for the papyrus-fringed Lake Naivasha. The lake is home to a variety of wildlife; over 400 different species of bird have been reported. This freshwater lake is a birding paradise. There is a sizeable population of hippos in the lake. Along the lake’s fabled waters, we are bound to see some of the area’s more intriguing species—Hippos, Giraffes, Buffalo and even the arboreal Colobus monkey. Floriculture forms the main industry around the lake. After lunch we explore Hells Gate National Park on our bikes (cycling) to the scenic gorges and also on foot. Later on we take a boat ride to Crescent Island-Naivasha. Many different types of animals are found in the Island as we take a walk with the expert resident naturalist. Giraffes, waterbucks, wildebeest, Gazelles, Impala, Dik diks can be seen during the walk. Later we retire back at our cozy accommodations at Lodge.
DAY 6: Amboseli National Park
After breakfast embark on our journey to Amboseli passing through the scenic Athi plains into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephant. The park is known for its great view views of spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro. Following a delicious lunch, we set off in late afternoon for another spectacular game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
DAY 7: Amboseli
Amboseli is big game country: elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe. Two game runs are planned today, both which will introduce you to the intense beauty and drama that fill each day here. Predators stalk the herds of grazing animals, recreating the age-old drama of life and death under the African sun, in a setting so lushly beautiful. We return to our lodge or cozy Camp/ Lodge for a steaming bath, cocktails and a sumptuous dinner at Lodge.
DAY 8: Amboseli-Tsavo West National Park
Breakfast at Lodge then depart for Tsavo West National Park. It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and bird life. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which are water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow and Ash cones, which is an example of recent volcanic eruption. Movie the Ghost and the Darkness was shot here. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
DAY 9: Tsavo West – Mombasa.
Early morning breakfast followed by a short game drive to savor the beauty of the park as we dive down to the coast. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 10: Mombasa
Visit the coastal historical buildings include Fort Jesus among others at your leisure time. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 11. Mombasa – Nairobi.
After your morning breakfast you will be driven to the Mombasa International Airport to catch your flight to Nairobi.
